New exhibition celebrates Thamesmead’s colourful past

Gallions Housing Association is taking Thamesmead residents back in time by discovering how life used to be. The association is holding a two-month long photographic exhibition at its Tavy Bridge Office starting this Thursday (3rd July). There will be a fantastic display of memories collected over the years; from pictures of the very early inhabitants and unique architecture to community events.

American housing association chiefs visit UK

16th April 2008

Twenty three high level guests, including presidents and Chief Executives, from some of America’s most influential social housing organisations met in London this week for a three-day housing event. Part of the British-American Housing Exchange group set up last year, the event brings together members to discuss the housing sector.

Quality Housing Services results just in

We have recently received the feedback from our QHS audit in February 2008, with impressive results. The on-site audit and the resident service satisfaction scores reveal that we are performing well.

Helping you to downsize

Gallions Housing Association is co-ordinating a pilot scheme to tackle overcrowding for South East London’s housing association tenants. The South East London Housing Partnership (SELHP) Scheme has set up a database of tenants within 11 housing associations.

Free seed give away to celebrate the launch of Thamesmead in Bloom

Gallions Housing Association, supported by Tilfen Land, launched the Thamesmead in Bloom gardening compeition in the town centre this week. As part of the launch, staff gave away packs of seeds to help kick start residents' passion for gardening.

New landmark for Thamesmead nears completion

The newly named Phoenix Point development currently under construction on the old Boiler House site in Thamesmead took a step closer to completion on Friday 28th March. Denne Construction hosted a traditional ‘topping out ceremony’ to mark the successful completion of an important milestone in the delivery of the project.

Gallions acts out Macbeth

Towards 2016: Thamesmead unveils its plans for the future

For almost 40 years Thamesmead has been blighted by its connection with Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of ‘A Clockwork Orange’.  Now the 35,000 strong community on the banks of the Thames in south-east London is fighting back with a vision for its future.

Nuisance neighbour could face arrest

14 January 2008

A private tenant on Mangold Way, Thamesmead has been told to stop her nuisance behaviour or face arrest. Gallions Housing Association obtained an injunction against the tenant on 9th January 2008 in Dartford County Court.
